Dulos, who is charged with killing his estranged wife Jennifer Farber Dulos of New Canaan, was rushed to the hospital Tuesday, Jan. 28, after authorities say he attempted to kill himself with carbon monoxide poisoning.
The father of five was found at his Farmington, Connecticut, mansion during a welfare check by Farmington Police after he failed to show up in court for the originally scheduled emergency bond hearing.
He was found unconscious in a vehicle in the garage. First responders performed CPR for more than 30 minutes and a faint pulse was found.
Dulos was then transported to UConn Health in Farmington before being transferred by helicopter to Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx to receive hyperbaric chamber treatments.
Sources are reporting that Dulos' made his attempt after his new girlfriend left to go to the grocery store.
Shortly after Dulos was found, his family in Greece and his children in Manhattan were reportedly notified that he had died. A family spokeswoman, Carrie Luft, said it "would not be appropriate for us to comment at this time."
Early Wednesday, Jan. 29, police, armed with warrants, returned to the home, presumably to continue the attempted suicide investigation.
Farmington Police did not return phone calls or emails regarding their presence at the home.
Tuesday's scheduled bond hearing had to do with questions stability of the backing for his $6 million bond. The new hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The New York Post is reporting that celebrity bondsman Ira Judelson is expected to back Dulos’ bond.
“I’m prepared to as long as we get everything we need to get it in place,” he told The Post.
Dulos' attorney, Norm Pattis, did not answer questions as he left the hospital on Tuesday. He has not responded to emails regarding today's bond hearing.
Jennifer Dulos has been missing since Friday, May 24.
According to police arrest reports, officials believe that Dulos killed his wife when she returned home from dropping their five children off at school and then disposed of her body.
Dulos has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His former lover, Michelle Troconis, is accused of conspiring with him in the murder.
